Tromso and a Coastal Experience

An overnight cruise provides an excellent vantage point for Northern Lights and a special winter experience.

Departure Dates: Daily 1 November 2007 – 28 March 2008

Itinerary

• Day 1. Fly via Oslo to Bodo (schedules advised at time of booking). Bed and Breakfast at the Radisson SAS Hotel. A First Class hotel in the centre of Bodo, with restaurant, bar, fitness room, sauna and solarium. A panoramic observation bar/lounge on the to floors offers wonderful views. All bedrooms have private facilities, TV, telephone, hair dryer and mini-bar.

• Day 2. Morning at leisure in Bodo. 15.00 Depart on a Coastal Ship heading for the Loften Islands where the ship calls at Stamsund and Svolvaer in the evening. A twin-bedded outside cabin with private facilities is included. Overnight on the Coastal Voyage.

• Day 3. During the early hours the ship calls at various ports in the Vesteralen Islands, then travels along the coast to Tromso arriving at 14.45. 2 nights Bed and Breakfast – Radisson SAS, Tromso. A First Class hotel in the centre of Tromso with the airport bus stopping right outside. Facilities include restaurant and a bar. The relaxation centre on the top floor includes a sauna – with a stunning view over Tromso. All bedrooms have private facilities, TV, telephone and mini-bar.

• Day 4. At leisure in Tromso 

• Day 5. Early afternoon homeward flight, via Oslo. Extra nights are possible in Tromso, or you could choose to break your journey in Svolaer – prices on request.

Tromso attractions include an Artic Cathedral, picturesque wooden hoses, quaint shops, cosy bars and cafes, plus a wide range of excellent restaurants. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides and - most popular of all - husky safaris.

Optional Excursions

Husky Safaris are available in the daytime or evening - £125 p.p. including transfers, clothing and lunch/dinner.

Take a bus northwards through the spectacular Lyngen Alps, returning to Tromso in the evening on the Coastal Voyage. This is possible daily except Saturdays - £35 p.p. (bookable locally)
