Important information:

Adult Activity Breaks

These holidays are not suitable for children under 15 years old and countries often have a minimum age for driving or being a passenger on a snowmobile. This is usually 15 years old.

Airport Transfers

Airport Transfers in resort are all included in the price of all featured holidays.

Weather

Temperatures can regularly go down from -15 to -35 degrees centigrade, though the dry, clean air will leave you feeling warmer than you might expect. At the other extreme, you may experience up to +5 degrees centigrade during the day.

Clothing

There is a local saying in the Arctic Circle, ‘There is no such thing as cold weather…..just bad clothing!’. We recommend long thermal underwear along with several additional layers of clothing. Most holidays do include a thermal outer suit and boots, hat and gloves to ensure your comfort during your activities.

Snowmobiling

To drive a snowmobile requires a valid driver’s licence. Safari organisers hold the driver of the snowmobile responsible in case of any damage to the vehicle. In Finland, for example, this is for the first €505. We would ask that you take extra care when driving. Please note: Most of our snowmobile tours do not require previous snowmobiling experience but can be very demanding due to the length of the tours.

Global Positioning System (GPS)

Where you are travelling off the beaten track for long periods, your guide will carry a GPS unit, which will pinpoint your location on Earth to within approximately 1m sq. using satellite technology. This will ensure you do not get lost!

Safety & The Activities

We have taken care in selecting the holidays in this brochure but by their nature the activities featured carry an element of risk. In particular the activities featured in the Adult Activity Breaks section have a higher degree of risk. It is therefore important that the instructions and advice of the guides are adhered to at all times.

Reasonable health and safety checks have been conducted on the activities featured as they carry a higher degree of risk. We recommend that you do not participate in the activities unless you are 100% fit and healthy. Please seek professional medical advice before booking, if you have any doubts.

Minimum members

All holidays contained on Winter Activities will take place subject to a minimum number required to operate the holiday. We impose a deadline of 8 weeks prior to the date of departure for deciding if sufficient passengers will be travelling. In the event that the minimum number is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the holiday and refund any monies paid.

Holiday Insurance

As the holidays in this brochure demand a specialist insurance policy, tailor-made to cover the activities included, holidays are sold subject to the Bridge or similar insurance being purchased. Please contact our reservation team for details.
